Create this irresistibly cute beaded girl keychain with a little cord and pony beads. Attach the finished beaded girl to a key ring, backpack, purse, bag or zipper pull, or make several for gifts, summer camp, classroom and group activities or fundraisers. Materials Needed:
1 - Key Ring or Lanyard Hook

3 yards - Suede Cord (Color of your choice)
OR
Leather Cord
OR
Monofilament Cord (Item # 10006)

6 - Brown Pony Beads(or hair color of your choice)

20 - Pony Beads for skin color

45 - Pony Beads for dress color

5 - Pony Beads for shoe color
Don't forget to include a few extra beads to your count if you want "dangles" at the bottom of your keychain.
Optional: For a stiffer critter you can include a little wire or a pipe cleaner with your cord to help keep it's shape

Instructions

1. Find the half way point of the cord or wire you are using and double knot it onto the keyring. You can also use a lark's head knot (shown in photo).

2. Begin weaving the beads onto the cord following the pattern at the top of the page. You can click on the image for a larger, better resolution photo.

3. After finishing the pattern tie a double knot in the cords at the bottom and apply tacky glue to secure.

4. Three or four beads can be strung onto the end of each cord as a finishing touch (This is optional and not included in the bead count in your material list.)

5. Weave your wire or pipe cleaner through your beaded girl keychain to make it stiffer and hold it's shape.

(Seed beads or E beads can be used in place of pony beads to create smaller characters.)
